A free career transition workshop for local veterans and their families is set for Jan. 23 at Binghamton’s DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton.

Employment specialists will be on hand to offer help with résumé and cover letter writing, interview skills and networking ideas. The workshop will focus on translating military skills to civilian employment.

The event is open to veterans of all ages and their family members. It is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 3 p..m., and lunch will be provided by the DoubleTree.

The Veteran Career Transition Basic Training program is a project of the Southern Tier Veteran Support Group, the Wedge Group Inc., and the STOP-DWI Returning Warrior 10 & 5-Miler.
